Literacy Routines That Build Regulation
Tuesday June 16, 2026 9:45am - 11:00am AKDT
DESCRIPTION:
This session introduces Tier 1 literacy routines that help students stay regulated and ready to learn. Participants will explore how reading and writing challenges can lead to frustration or avoidance and will learn practical ways to respond when behaviors stem from literacy difficulty. Educators will leave with a few clear routines and in the moment strategies they can use right away to support student engagement during reading and writing.

OBJECTIVES:
1. Identify how reading and writing challenges can lead to avoidance or other behaviors.
2. Describe how simple literacy routines can support self regulation and reduce frustration.
3. Notice behavior linked to literacy challenges and respond effectively.
