DESCRIPTION: Join our session to learn how Career Leadership Days use technology and student leadership activities to motivate and engage students. We’ll explore hands-on activities, including the use of AI tools, that help students build confidence, develop skills, and prepare for school and future careers. You’ll also learn how you can use these activities in your own classrooms or reach out to partner with us to host events for your district.
OBJECTIVES: By the end of this session, participants will be able to: Understand how technology can enhance student leadership through hands-on, interactive activities. Identify specific leadership and engagement activities used during Career Leadership Days. Explore AI tools and other digital resources that motivate students and support learning. Plan ways to implement these activities in their own classrooms or school programs. Connect with program organizers to partner with ESD 105 and host Career Leadership Days in their districts. Recognize strategies to build student confidence and skills for school success and future careers.
DESCRIPTION: Career and Technical Education (CTE) opens doors to purpose, skill development, and future readiness—but only when every learner can access and thrive within it. This session explores how CTE can serve as a powerful equity lever for students with disabilities through inclusive program design, collaborative supports, and intentional instructional practices. Participants will discover practical strategies to remove barriers, apply Universal Design for Learning in CTE settings, and align IEP goals with employability and leadership standards. Real-world examples and success stories will illustrate how CTE pathways can empower all students to build confidence, competence, and a clear vision for their future. Leave inspired and equipped with actionable tools to help every learner “level up” in CTE.
OBJECTIVES: Show how CTE pathways can be intentionally designed to engage and support learners with diverse abilities — turning access into true opportunity.
DESCRIPTION: This session supports teachers in building foundational data skills, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and equipping students with the data literacy necessary for navigating a data-driven world. This session addresses the growing emphasis on data science in state standards, including the newly revised Washington State Mathematics Learning Standards and their integration with the Next Generation Science Standards. Teachers need support in embedding data science into their instructional day, developing students' abilities to process, analyze, and interpret data, and fostering curiosity about real-world issues.
OBJECTIVES: 1. Equip teachers with strategies to embed data science into their instruction. 2. Build understanding of the new Washington State Data Science standards. 3. Explore cross-disciplinary opportunities to align math and science through data science. 4. Empower teachers to design lessons that connect real-world data to student learning.
